Supergrass on the Road To Rouen
Everyone’s favourite pesky pop rockers Supergrass have just completed their fifth studio album, Road to Rouen, in a custom-built studio in a barn in Normandy, France. The album is said to usher in a new sound for the band and reportedly features unusual instrumentation such as zithers, ukeleles, brass and strings and, according to a news report in the NME, a “drum machine used by Sly & The Family Stone”. Road to Rouen will be the band’s first studio outing since 2002’s Life On Other Planets and is expected to be released In Australia in August. The first single from the album is called “St Petersburg”.
