Supergrass Ride The Road To Rouen

Weird rock fans rejoice! The Children Of The Monkey Basket have returned.

Supergrass' latest record, Road To Rouen, is hitting stores this August, one week after the release of the disc's first single "St. Petersburg."

The U.K. rockers' fifth studio release is described as having a "relaxed feel," the band's spokesperson told Billboard.com, and instruments such as the ukulele, zither, brass and strings have been incorporated onto the new tracks.

"There's one [song] that's like a cross between Frank Zappa and something very heavy, like Hawkwind," bassist Mick Quinn said last fall. "It will probably end up sounding really dainty when we get it onto the record, but who knows."

This summer Supergrass will open three dates for Coldplay and will perform a number of acoustic sets closer to the release of the new album.

Road To Rouen is the follow-up to 2002's Life On Other Planets.
