Supergrass
"I got a feeling you're not ordinary," Supergrass vocalist/guitarist Gaz Coombes sings on "Mary," but he could in fact be singing about himself, as Supergrass latest effort remains head-and-shoulders over his Britpop brethren. In the mid-'90s, Supergrass smoked the U.K. with their mix of punk-pop, Beatle-esque hooks and teenage-kicks exuberance. Quietly epic, Supergrass reveals a staggering leap forward.A rolling blend of pastoral melody, funky keyboards, and glam-slammin' rock, this album starts out ambitious and doesn't stop. In fact, its expanse grows with each listen.
