supergrass ready road to rouen, their fifth album, for release in august.
u.k. rock trio supergrass have completed sessions for their fifth full-length, road to rouen, which is scheduled for international release on august 15 courtesy of parlophone records. "St. Petersburg," the first single from supergrass' follow-up to 2002's life on other planets, will be issued one week prior to the album's release. recorded in the band's newly constructed studio in normandy, france, road to rouen has a more "relaxed feel" than supergrass' existing catalogue, according to a spokesman for the band, and will feature ukulele, zither, brass and strings, augumenting the band's traditional three-piece rock sound. Preceeding the release of their new full-length, supergrass will road test material from the new album during a handful of live shows this summer. The band will open for coldplay for two shows in glascow, scotland on june 1st and 2nd, and are scheduled for one more performance on august 4th in london. Supergrass are also planning a series of acoustic performances closer to the release of road to rouen.
