Supergrass
Diamond Hoo Ha
The sixth album from the mutton-chopped ex-Britpoppers
- The title was the trading name of Gaz and Danny when they performed without Mick. The 'Grass bassist broke his back in a bizarre sleepwalking accident and took time out last year.
- A real taste of rock'n'roll glamour, this records got all the famous Supergrass-style big hooks and canny melodies of previous gems like 'Caught By The Fuzz' and 'Richard III'.
- 'Rebel In You' is the loaded fave - it's a thumping, glam rockish stomper with a gospel-tinged chorus.
- Warning, Gaz does indulge in abit of a Bob Dylan tribute halfway though (see 'Ghost Of A Friend') but it still works.
- Simply put, this is the sound of one of Britain's best bands of the last 15 years at the top of their game. We like. A lot.
