The Star Attraction
Actress LIV TYLER and members of TRAVIS, RADIOHEAD and BLUR were among the crowd who came to see SUPERGRASS at their low-key LONDON show last night (August 15).
The band played a warm-up for their V2002 appearances this weekend before a sold-out crowd at Camden Electric Ballroom.
Among those in attendance were 'Lord Of The Rings' star Tyler, a long-time fan of the group, Radiohead's Ed O' Brien, Blur's Graham Coxon, Travis' Andy Dunlop, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's Nick Jago, Ed Harcourt and TV funnyman Mark Lamarr.
Dunlop, whose band have pulled out of their V2002 headlining appearance because of an injury to drummer Neil Primrose, told NME.COM: "The band are on a bit of a holiday right now so what else am I gonna do but come out and see some good rock 'n' roll?"
Supergrass played a string of tracks from their forthcoming LP 'Life On Other Planets', which is released on September 30, including recent limited-edition single 'Never Done Nothing Like That Before' and it's imminent follow-up 'Grace'. They also delighted the crowd by playing old favourites including 'Mansize Rooster', 'Richard III', 'Strange Ones' and debut single 'Caught By The Fuzz'.
Supergrass play the Main Stage at the V2002 festival this weekend at Chelmsford Hylands Park (August 17) and Stafford Weston Park (18).
Following the release of the new LP, the band embark on a UK headline tour.
