The Press Release
GuilFest is delighted to announce that the headline band for the BBC Radio 2 Main Stage on Friday the 13th of July, will be none other than the legendary, one and only... Supergrass !

Supergrass have come through some testing times to emerge stronger than ever with their most recent and critically acclaimed album the 'Road to Rouen'. Currently working on a new album the Oxfordshire quartet have the enviable distinction of having had six consecutive Top 10 albums, all of which have attained Gold or Platinum status.

Having emerged in the Britpop flurry to take the Best Newcomers Award at the 1996 Brit Awards, the band clearly transcended the genre with material that drew on sixties psychedelia, seventies Buzzcocks punk, through power pop and, to be frank, most styles under the sun. They are one of only a few bands from that era to achieve lasting success to this day.

Cementing their reputation as quality musicians and demonstrating that they have lost none of their innate sense of fun, the band most recently appeared for Red Nose Day 2007 with Ade Edmondson on a special edition of Top Gear. In April Supergrass will be off to Berlin to record the first sessions for their, as yet untitled, sixth album which is due out later this year.

Supergrass have always excelled as live performers and are famous for classic hits such as Pumping On Your Stereo, Caught By The Fuzz, Alright, Going Out, Lenny and Richard III. The GuilFest crowd can expect to hear the bands joyous and positive attitude spilling over and lighting up the opening night at GuilFest 2007.
